Northern Ireland Low Carbon Homes Scheme

The Low Carbon Homes Scheme is a rate relief scheme which came into effect on 1 April 2010. It aims to encourage the building of low and zero carbon homes in Northern Ireland.

First the dwelling’s CO2 emissions are calculated using SAP 2005 as for building regulations compliance. The calculations are then continued using one of the spreadsheets that can be downloaded below. These spreadsheets can be used to create the applicable certificate.
