Aircraft Cabin Environment
test rig
BRE's ACE rig can be used to test virtually every aspect of an aircraft's
internal environment during real-time, simulated flights carrying
passengers and crew. The interrelationship of key parameters such
as noise, vibration, temperature, low humidity, air velocity, air
distribution and recirculation can be investigated, as can associated
issues such as lighting, seating, multimedia systems, cabin stowage
and security.
This unique facility utilises the forward section of a twin-aisle
passenger aircraft, and comprises flight deck, passenger cabin and
two galleys. More than 40 passengers can be accommodated in the main
cabin area and there is space behind the rear galley for additional
seating or other experimental work.
